Mr. Browne's Roses
Mr. Browne has a shop that sells unique roses that are different shades of brown. He takes care of the lighter shades better than the darker ones that sit in the back of the store among cobwebs and gradually begin to die. His store will have to close soon because he is losing money. When he becomes ill, his children take care of all the roses with the same love, affection and attention. Soon, customers buy enough roses to keep the shop from closing. Mr. Browne learns a valuable lesson from his children about tolerance. Ages 4-9 Published by Schooner Publications, Inc. Revised edition 2001 ISBN# 1-929234-00-7 $8.95 s/h

Mr. Browne and the Rose Show
The Browne children ask Mr. Browne if the brown roses can be entered in a rose show they read about on the bulletin board at the grocery store. Mr. Browne thinks it is a good idea. Read about the adventure of Lottsa Chocolate and his rose friends at the rose show when they find not everyone accepts or welcomes roses of a different color. Feeling alone and deserted, they are finally rescued by Mayor I. M. Bizzee who is in a wheelchair and readily relates to being "different".
